G3DK Printing started as a brochure site with a price calculator and a contact form. Every job then ran through email: quoting, back-and-forth about the model, invoicing and delivery.
What I built
A customer portal that carries each order from enquiry to delivery, shipped in four days of focused work:
- Enquiries become orders. The quote form creates an order the customer can sign into with a magic link. No passwords.
- One thread per order. Messages and attachments live on the order, and email replies land in the same thread.
- Quotes. Versioned quotes the customer accepts or declines in the portal; they expire on their own.
- Printing to delivery. Progress photos, parcel size, AusPost postage, Square invoices, PayID, tracking and auto-completion.
How it’s put together
Static pages with Netlify Functions behind them, Postgres through Netlify Database, file storage in Netlify Blobs, and Postmark for email in both directions. The server re-prices every quote rather than trusting the browser, and every migration is tested against an in-process Postgres.
