vikunja-mcp-ng lets an AI assistant create and triage tasks, manage projects and Kanban boards in Vikunja. It runs the homelab’s own task board, where Claude and I assign each other work. Three fixes were merged upstream:
- bulk updates use Vikunja’s native bulk contract: one request, no lost writes on SQLite, and honest reporting when only some tasks change
- bulk creates are serialised, because concurrent writes tripped the circuit breaker on SQLite backends
- a position parameter for creating and updating Kanban buckets
