A tipping comp is more fun with a system. Each round, a few scripts pulled the fixtures, bookmaker odds and the ladder, then scored every match on four weighted factors:
- Odds-implied probability (40%): what the market thinks
- Recent form (25%): the last five results, the latest counting most
- Home ground and venue (20%): the home team’s win rate
- Head-to-head (15%): how the two teams have gone against each other
The tips, the reasoning behind each one and the results all lived in a Notion database, with results scored after each round (and NRL.com as a fallback source). It ran for the 2026 season and is retired now that the season is over.
